NOTICE TO BETHEL TAXPAYERS

The fourth and last quarter of the property tax on Real Estate for the Grand List of 2008 is due April 1, 2010. If not paid by May 3, 2010, interest will be charged at 1 1/2% per month from the due date of April 1, 2010, or a $2.00 minimum whichever is greater. Mailed payments must be postmarked no later than May 3, 2010.

All Real Estate accounts with an unpaid balance will be liened on May 17, 2010 at 8:30am in accordance with State Statute 12-172. To avoid a lien, payment must be IN THE OFFICE BY 4:00pm, MAY 14, 2010. Postmark WILL NOT be honored.

Taxpayers can pay by check or credit card online at www.bethelct.org. Follow the online instructions.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN THE TAX OFFICE

The Tax Collector’s Office located at The Clifford J. Hurgin Municipal Center, 1 School Street is open Monday thru Friday 8:30am to 4:30.

Failure to receive a bill DOES NOT relieve a taxpayer of the obligation to pay taxes or delinquent charges.
