AARP Tax-Aide Tax counseling for Seniors every Wednesday through April 11th. Call the Bethel Senior Center for an appointment. This service is for taxpayers who are age 60 and older. You are required to bring identification, copies of your 2005 tax returns (Federal and CT), all 2006 income reports that have been received, your SSA/1099 forms, all 1099 forms for interest and dividends, etc., W2 forms from each employer, unemployment compensation forms and all other forms that indicate CT and Federal income taxes.
St. Patrick's Day Celebration
Friday, March 16th
Come join the gang at a special St. Patrick's Day celebration at the Log Cabin. The Highland Rovers Band will be entertaining. A wonderful lunch is planned for you. Also, on the way up, we will be stopping at the Christmas Tree Shop. Cost: $74. The bus leaves at 8:00 am.
Harrison Galleries presents, "The Roadshow"

Licensed and bonded appraisers will be here from 10-11 am. They will give a short lecture on the process of appraisal. You may bring antiques, fine art, jewelry, porcelains, small fine furniture, coins and stamps. Please come and bring your favorite small treasure to have it evaluated. Remember: One man's junk is another man's treasure! If you are going to attend, please sign up at the Center. Coffee and... will be served. They will be able to buy some old gold jewelry, coins, etc.
Home-Health Insurance Program

Zachary Kane, CSA, from Bankers Life Insurance Co. will be explaining the benefits of Home-Health Care insurance. Zachary has been working with local seniors for six years. This alternative to traditional Long Term Care Insurance is much lower in cost and provides the care where seniors want to be - in their own homes. Come and learn about the options that are available to help you remain independent, protect your assets, stay in your own home and not burden your family members.
Healthy Life Choices for your Brain
Monday, March 26th
Edie Hardwick, Program Manager of the Lutheran Home of Southbury Outreach program will present on Healthy Life Choices for Your Brain. This program will offer information on memory loss as well as services available in the community for families whose loved ones re affected by dementia.
KITZO Bingo
Friday, March 30th, 11 am - 12 noon.
On Friday, March 30th, we will have a specialized Bingo, called KITZO (healthy food and exercise Bingo), sponsored by HealthNet. There will be prizes. Winners will receive $10 gift certificates to Stop & Shop. Come join the fun. Learn new chair exercises and get into a discussion on healthy food choices for seniors. Limit 40 people. You must sigh up for this program and if you plan on staying for lunch indicate that on the sigh-up sheet.
The Hiking/Biking Club will be doing a trip in March, weather permitting.
The Bethel Senior Center Spring Show will be on June 1st this year. We are doing Broadway show hits. We welcome everyone over 55 to join us. If you have never come to the Senior Center but you have singing talent, please join us starting Monday, March 5th from 10-11:45 am.
